ABOUT ME

My name is Lauren (Lo) Akemi Nakamura.

I am a Pittsburgh-based Japanese-American Reiki Master Teacher (RMT), licensed social worker (LSW), movement guide and artist. My positionality as a queer biracial woman informs my creative offerings, which embody the integration of light and darkness… mind and body… expansion and grounding… joy and sorrow.

I have been receiving Reiki since 2007, practicing Reiki since 2015 and teaching Reiki since 2022. I am a lifelong student — the more I teach, the more I learn…

I believe that physical, mental, social and creative health are inextricable. I’m dedicated to building a society in which this awareness of interconnectedness is embedded in all life stages in order to promote collective, sustainable, holistic and community-driven health.
